Argentina Holidays

Overview

It’s impossible to think of Argentina without the mind wandering to the vibrancy of Tango and the exquisite flavours of Argentinian Steak paired with a fruity Malbec. Argentinian culture has long beguiled those that travel there with its vibrancy and lust for life, and it’s this depth culture and flavour that’s present throughout Argentina – from the streets of Buenos Aires and the heights of the Andes to the Tierra Del Fuego national park and the Perito Moreno glacier.

SPECIALISTS KNOWLEDGE

The bustling capital of Buenos Aires is a must see on any Argentinian trip and it’s here where you’ll find the colourful culture that Argentina is so well known for. The city looks European with a Lain American twist, it’s large and regal, the people are welcoming and friendly and the food is excellent. Be sure to watch a Tango Show in Buenos Aires, but also take to the streets at night to sample the nightlife in and around the colourful La Boca district, where you’ll undoubtedly see the Tango performed at its rawest. Buenos Aires is also one of South America’s finest shopping destinations – so head to Palermo Viejo or San Telmo to indulge. For something a line different, pay a visit to the resort town of Ushuaia on the Tierra del Fuego archipelago on the southernmost 4p of South America, otherwise known as the “End of the World.” The town is rural, sat on a steep hill, and surrounded by the Marsala Mountains that act as the gateway to Antarctica for cruises and tours.

Outside of Argentina’s cites, the country has vast and exceptional wildlife to take advantage of – it’s perfect for those that appreciate a line variety when they travel. The awe-inspiring waterfalls at Iguazu Falls is a stunning collection of waterfalls cascading ferociously into the Iguazu River, while the Los Glaciares National Park in the Austral Andes is phenomenal – filled with mountains and lakes, mostly frozen over and starkly beautiful. A liNle further south is the Perito Moreno Glacier which is the world’s 3rd largest reserve of natural water. One of our favourite areas to explore in Argentina is the absolutely stunning Nahuel Huapi National Park, lush and green, surrounded by snow-topped mountains and adorned with the sparkling blue of the Nahuel Huapi lake and dense parts of the Valdivian Rainforest. A good hub to explore the national park is the scenic city of Bariloche which sits close to the banks of the lake.

Points to ponder

Argentinians aren’t afraid to admit their love for beef, and one of the best ways to try it is at a traditional Asado – which is a form of Argentinian BBQ, where cuts of beef and chorizo are served up in varying size and cuts. Most regions of Argentina base their diet around a heavy intake of beef, Click here to read more
