Approach the cities of Argentina much like you would a European or American city. Dress as you would in any large city or town, though be aware that Argentinians can be quite conservative in their dress sense, and dress appropriately for the countryside and the glaciers. As with anywhere else, be sure to cover up when visiting a place of worship. When it comes to social situations, do as the locals do. A single kiss on the cheek is quite normal as both a greeting and a farewell, while handshaking is generally reserved for business or exceptionally formal occasions.

Tipping is not widespread in Argentina, though there are exceptions of course. It’s normal to give hairdressers and similar services a few pesos, and a small tip of 5-10% is normal in restaurants if service is not included. There are often taxi “assistants” who’ll open and close doors too, and they’ll often wait for at least a small amount of change, much like a hotel or station porter.
