The Maldives come with plenty of sunshine and great temperatures that average out (with exceptional consistency) at around 30°C, throughout the year. The best weather is between November and April, while the high season falls between December and March. There is a monsoon season in the Maldives and it runs from May to October and peaks around June – the prices are lower at this time of year – but in our opinion, it’s worth paying higher prices and visiting during the dry season as there isn’t much to do on a rainy day in the Maldives except drink or scuba dive…though the islands do have a certain charm when under rainfall.
Diving is good all year-round, though the reef is generally more varied with better visibility on the western side between May and November and from the eastern between December and April. With the islands’ consistent weather and year round beauty there really is no bad time to visit the Maldives.
