Laos has a very similar climate to its neighbours Vietnam and Thailand meaning that the months November through February are the most pleasant time to visit – at this time of year there is little rain and the heat isn’t too exhausting. Though much like its neighbours it really depends on where you’ll be in the country. The hot season, from March to May, can be a little much in the south of the country with temperatures hitting the 40s, though if you plan on focusing your trip to the more mountainous north of the country – then you’ll find the temperatures are more moderate.
Contrary to popular belief, the rainy season can be a pleasant time to visit the country asthough it does rain, you’ll find that the showers are often brief and bracketed by long periods of sunshine. The rain also clears dust from the air making everything a little clearer and the air much less clammy. The most popular times to visit the country are December to February and August, while January is the busiest month – so expect the biggest crowds then./span>
