To learn about the genocide, pay a visit to the Gisozi Genocide memorial and take either a tour or the prerecorded guide, which if nothing else, will help give you a greater appreciation of just how far the city has come in 20 short years. That aside, the city is busy and vibrant and boasts scenic hillsides and plenty of inner-city greenery amongst its more contemporary offerings of modern museums and city restaurants.
