Sub-tropical Hong Kong is a popular destination year-round – especially from mainland China – so make sure you plan any trip well in advance. You can expect the best weather between October and December – when there is less rainfall and the humidity drops significantly – there’s also very few, if any, typhoons after October, and the temperatures remain between a pleasant 21 – 26°C.
The coldest months of the year are in Winter – January and February – when temperatures can drop to lows of around 10°C. Spring is between March and May and you’ll find that rainfall is fairly common, there’s high humidity and temperatures reach highs of around 27°C. When summer hits between late May and September, you can expect very high temperatures of up to 37°C and huge amounts of humidity – it’s also the rainiest season of the year and it’s typhoon season – though you’ll note that Hong Kong has a great advance-warning system in place – so you shouldn’t ever be caught unawares.
